Privacy Policy

BassWave ("the extension", "we", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that boosts the bass of audio playing in Chrome tabs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we do NOT collect

BassWave does not collect, transmit, or store:

• Audio content from your browser tabs
• Browsing history or URLs you visit
• Personal information (name, email, location)
• Microphone audio
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

2. Data stored locally on your device

BassWave saves the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

• Your last-used preset (e.g. "Medium") — so the extension remembers your preference between sessions
• Your last-used gain value (a number between 1 and 30)
• Pro license status — a boolean flag indicating whether you have unlocked the Pro tier

3. Payments (Pro tier)

If you purchase a Pro license, payment is processed by ExtensionPay (powered by Stripe). Payment processing is handled entirely by these third-party services — BassWave does not receive or store your payment card details. 4. Permissions used

BassWave requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them only as described:

• tabCapture — captures the audio stream of the active tab so it can be processed by the Web Audio API. Audio is processed locally and never transmitted.
• storage — saves your preferences (preset, gain) locally on your device.
• tabs — reads the current tab's title and favicon to display in the popup. No tab content is accessed.
• offscreen — creates a hidden document to run the Web Audio API graph (required by Chrome's Manifest V3 architecture).

5. Third-party services

The extension does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. The only external service contacted is ExtensionPay (for Pro license verification), and only when you initiate a payment or the extension checks your license status.

6. Children's privacy

BassWave is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
